From McCreesh Place To Independent Living

“It’s been a BLESSING to be at McCreesh. I am so glad to be here than living on the streets where there are killings and overall, it’s not safe,” Chris reflects. In 2018, after years of being homeless, Chris was accepted into the Supportive Housing Communities’ McCreesh Place residence where he has been progressing well in self-sufficiency.

The SHC staff at McCreesh Place connected him to mental health services and have provided overhaul wellness through case management. “I am grateful for the support,” he says. Chris also attends Dual Recovery Support Group meetings which helped him improve and stabilize his mental health.

Chris is proud to say that he will be moving into his own apartment next month. He did not let his mental health challenges stop him from achieving his goal of transitioning out of shared community living. Chris is a true success story! SHC wishes you the very best.
