Thanks to the generous support of neighbors like you, Supportive Housing Communities (SHC) has been helping to stably house individuals and families in Charlotte for nearly 30 years. Founded in 1993, SHC provides desperately needed permanent housing and supportive services to men, women, and families who find themselves homeless.

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we are introducing a new event, Neighbor of the Year. This event will recognize neighbors who are making great strides and impact in our community.

Neighbor of The Year welcomes business leaders, government officials, philanthropists, and individuals throughout Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas. We hope that you will consider supporting what is sure to be an inspiring campaign. We are counting on YOU to show your creativity, ingenuity, and resolve to help your neighbors in Charlotte.

The nomination period will run from November 1- 30, 2022 during National Homelessness Awareness Month. Finalists will be selected in December and announced at the Neighbor of the Year Kick-Off on January 12, 2023. Finalists will have 12 weeks to campaign through fundraising and volunteering.

The grand finale will take place on April 27, 2023, at The Barrel Room at Triple C, where the announcement of the Neighbor of the Year winners will be celebrated with all the nominees and their efforts as a collective. Surrounded by team members, family, and friends, participants will enjoy a happy hour and entertainment before the announcement.
